  • The Speed limit through Beaconsfield is being examined.
  • Questions & Statements from the floor to our Ward Councillor:
    – who pays for damage to the cross overs at driveways.
Response/ Brett will get an answer.
    - Parking along Beaconsfield-Emerald Road still a concern.
    - Increase of rates – someone reported a 13% increase a bit steep in light of the fact that the CRRA had campaigned on the rates issue.
Response/Brett noted that in fact there has only been a 7% increase across the board. And the only way to put in desperately needed infrastructure is with money. And it should also be noted that the $100 municipal charge has gone which should more than compensate for the 7% increase.

Items From The Floor

10.1
• Robyn Daley alerted the meeting to the footpath situation in Beaconsfield Ave. Coming from the Station the footpath only runs as far as Francis Xavier School. In front of the school and beyond it is a matter of walking in the mud or on the road. With the arrival of the Bowman Track Estate and the new church foot traffic along Beaconsfield Ave is going to increase considerably. Equally on the Old Princes Highway. Walking east from town the footpath on the south side of the road only runs as far as the timber yards. From that point on it is again a matter of walking in the mud or on the road. As the church buildings are utilised by both teenagers and senior citizens groups and as both groups tend to walk to the building there is a real need for this footpath to go in now that the church building has been relocated to the East end of town.
• The meeting will send a letter to the Shire asking for such

10.2
• Rodney Cocks informed the meeting that he is happy to hear of any issues we may have. (Mr. Cocks is the Labor Candidate for the Federal seat of La Trobe).

10.3
• The Traffic flow at the Soldiers Road / Bryn Mawr Boulevard intersection is a disaster during the times the School Crossings are operating. • The meeting will send a letter to Casey councillor Mick Morland asking that Casey investigate improvements

10.4
• It was reported by Brett that the Old Coach House has now been sold and the new owner is seeking to restore the original façade. Brett would appreciate hearing from anyone who has photos of the building as it was in it’s hey day
10.5
• The sign that warned motorists of ducks on the road in the Berwick Views Estate is gone. Could this please be replaced? In the meantime please blow horn at ducks on road
