Councillor’s Report – Brett Owen:
• Council has now purchased the land on Hom Park Road for a sports venue. This is great news for our sporting clubs.
• Council has approved a new supermarket for Beaconsfield – at the back of Aldi. Access will be from the Emerald Beaconsfield Road.
• VCAT says Mahon Ave development can go ahead - an over ruling of the Council decision.

A Community (Bendigo) Bank for Beaconsfield:
Two or three reps needed to attend the next meeting with the Bendigo Bank.
Meeting will be called for some time in July.   Graham Taylor will be our rep.

Constitution Up Date: Waiting on the Beaconsfield/Officer boundary.

Report on the Cardinia Embroidery installation in the Beaconsfield Community Complex project:
$1410 now available. The project is coming along nicely.

Insurance matters:
• Report from Nik Hock re cost of insurance.
• Brett to investigate why our cover needs to double from $5 million to $10 million.
• Could the church’s insurance cover the Carols event. This one event is the main reason for the doubling of our cover – to be investigated.

Installation of a Flood Light for our Cenotaph:
• Connex has said yes to the project.
• We to now engage an electrician who will install.    $250 to be allocated

Items From The Floor

 
10.1
The park gates at the entrance to our town need restoring.
Gates were built in 1938 and paid for by the three ladies who ran the Beaconsfield Post Office.
A council grant will be needed to underwrite the cost.
We proceed to restore gates and beautify the entrance to the park and seek a grant to cover cost.

The contract to produce the Banner was with Tony Rushton under very favourable terms. This contract now needs to be reissued.
