to the new Pakenham By Pass for traffic moving in a westerly direction

Question from the floor: Eastward travel on the new Pakenham By Pass is not assessable from Beaconsfield could this please be rectified?

General business

9.1

Pokies in Beaconsfield. 75 for us. 85 for Officer and 80 for Pakenham.

  • Rob Porter Chair of Officer Progress Association addressed the meeting pointing out how to lodge an objection to the application for the said EGMs.
  • It will be the demonstration of public opposition that will have the major affect.
  • To note in our objections:
    - The application is based on the projected population not the current population of Beaconsfield/Officer.
    - The number of machines per thousand is based on the pop of the whole shire and not the pop of Beaconsfield and Office and Pakenham.
    - 10 per 1000 is the state average but here it will be 70 per 1000.
    - Gaming is lawful so the main issue is the density and the appropriateness of such Machines in an area like ours.
  • The meeting was alerted to the petition that is now available for signing here at the Beaconsfield Community Complex.
  • It was reported that our local member Tammy Lobato is very much on our side in this matter.
  • We need to let our neighbours know that the May Road development is still on the go.
  • Brett reported that the council will have the applications before them during the next month or so.

9.2

Installation of a Flood Light for our Cenotaph up date: Still being worked

9.3

Report on the Cardinia Embroidery replica installation in the Beaconsfield Community Complex project:

  • That we proceed to installation and spend the money
M Ann TaylorS Nik HockCarried
9.4

Up Date on the project to make Beaconsfield Plastic Bag Free. • No action at present.

9.5

Proposal to make meetings of the BPA by monthly. • Matter not discussed

9.6

Proposed development of the Old Scout Hall And Community Hall in Beaconsfield Ave:

  • 12 factories are being considered for this land.
  • But the feeling of the meeting was that this is not a good use of this land in that this is residential area and not an industrial area.
  • Railway house has been developed at some personal cost and now Victrack is now considering putting factories alongside it.
  • Scouts Hall and the Community Hall are on land that is zoned community land use
  • It seems that nothing can happened while the Scouts and Community hall are in use.
  • It seems that although the land is zoned community land or public transport land you can build a factory on it.
  • This type of development is the sort of development that Victrack is current undertaking in other places.

9.7

Planning for the ANZAC Ceremony Sunday 20 April:

  • Executive Committee to be asked to investigate the possibility of pulling this off as there was no energy from the floor of the meeting

  • Just get in touch with the Council and they will sort it all out (1300 787 624)
